Employee of the Month (January 2006)

Before the start of the school year, she arrived at Ferndale Middle School on a Saturday morning and proceeded to clean and paint at the school for the next five hours! She cheerfully answers phones, checks in late students, arranges coverage for classes, though none of these duties fall within the description of her position. But, she does it all with enthusiasm and a smile!
Yesterday, district officials named Kimberly Hilton, treasurer at Ferndale Middle School, Guilford County Schools’ Employee of the Month for January 2006.
“Kim is an absolute pleasure to be around,” said Julie Kimsey, a Ferndale Middle School teacher who nominated Hilton for the district recognition program. “She goes above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis.”
As the district’s Employee of the Month, Hilton received a $50 gift card and a gift bag from Sam’s Club, which has partnered with GCS to support the employee recognition program. In addition, the employee will be recognized at the January 10, 2006 Board of Education meeting.
