GCS ACT Course Offerings

GCS ACT Cohort II & III:  Summer 2010 Building Block Courses

Foundations for Teaching and Learning in Guilford County Schools (80 hours)
Course Dates: July 27-August 7 (M-F)
Course Times: 9:00-5:00 daily (one hour lunch) + 10 hours of online moodle coursework
Course Location: Jamestown Middle School, Room 405
Course Materials:

    • Textbook (provided):  The First Year Teacher’s Survival Guide
    • NC Standard Course of Study
    • Code of Ethics for North Carolina Educators
    • Standards for Professional Conduct
    • 3” D-Ring white binder with clear cover

Facilitating Learning Using Best Practices (30 hours)

Course Dates:  July 19—July 22 (M-Th)
Course Times:  8:30 AM – 5 PM (one hour lunch)

Using Data to Inform Instructional Decisions (30 hours)
