Advising Appointments

The Lateral Entry Resource and Advising Center houses two Lateral Entry Specialists who will work with current employees in an advising capacity. Our specialists will educate you about your options for obtaining a North Carolina Standard Professional license for teaching. During your advising appointment, you will explore all of your licensure options including those that offer graduate credit, lead to a master’s degree, offer a tuition reimbursement or scholarship, are offered online, and more.

For those interested in finding out whether or not they are eligible to teach as a Lateral Entry teacher, please go to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction website at: http://www.ncpublicschools.org/licensure/lateral/. If you think you qualify to be a Lateral Entry teacher, the Office of Employment will be happy to review your transcripts further, (336) 370-8967.
