Scholarships don’t come easy. With so many students doing amazing things, it takes a lot to stand out in the crowd. That’s why we encourage so many of our students to take part in Advanced Placement (AP) courses. In fact, almost 11.8 percent of our students took an AP exam in 2006-07. Compare that with Wake County, where only approximately 6 percent of their students took an AP exam. In order for students to achieve great things, they must first realize that anything can be accomplished through hard work. Almost half of our AP students scored a three or higher on AP exams – a figure that speaks volumes for those students who have previously had limited exposure to academically rigorous courses.
