North Carolina Association for the Advancement of Health Education Names GCS Health Resource Teacher the Best of 2006
The North Carolina Association for the Advancement of Health Education named Cathy Hailey, health resource teacher for GCS, the North Carolina Middle School Health Educator for 2006.
Cathy Hailey began her career as a health educator in 1987 and as a Health Coordinator in Asheboro City Schools, where she was responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive family life curriculum for students in grades K-12 and training science teachers to deliver it.
Each year, for almost 12 years, Hailey has taught the Family Life health curriculum to anywhere from two to four middle schools in Guilford County . Currently, Hailey is teaching at Kiser Middle, Northwest Middle and Northern Middle.
Colleagues have described Hailey as "effective, intelligent, caring, approachable, creative, up-to-date, realistic and fun."
Because of her many accomplishments, the North Carolina Association for the Advancement of Health Education is proud to name Cathy Hailey as the 2006 Middle School Health Educator of the Year.
