HUB Coordinator of the Year

Derrick Giles Presents GCS MWBE Coordinator Todd Baldwin (right) with the HUB Coordinator of the Year award.

Guilford County Schools MWBE Coordinator Todd Baldwin was awarded the HUB (historically underutilized business) Coordinator of the Year by the United Minority Contractors (UMC) of North Carolina in May 2009. Baldwin was noted for his dedication, zeal and results-oriented personality. An increased percentage of participation of MWBE, or Minority Women Business Enterprise, is a goal of not only the district’s, but of the United Minority Contractors as well. Baldwin has worked to give the North Carolina chapter access to opportunities within GCS, and the significant turnaround and higher numbers of MWBE participation is why he was honored with the award. Derrick Giles, a board member of the North Carolina chapter of UMC, presented Baldwin with the award at the May 28 board meeting. “While the award has Todd’s name on it, this award represents the district’s hard work, cooperation and determination in breaking down these barriers.”
