GCS Students Receive Over $55.7 million in Scholarships
The Class of 2006 Earns All-Time High for District in Scholarship Dollars
This year, Guilford County Schools’ students have turned their success in the classroom into $56 million in scholarship awards. The graduating class of 2006 earned scholarships totaling $56,223,946—an all-time high for the district and more than $5 million more than last year.
The following table shows the scholarship totals awarded to students at each high school in the district.

In addition to academic awards, students in the district earned scholarships that are based on a variety of criteria including participation in community service, athletics, financial need and specialization in a particular field of study.
To get a head start on next year’s deadlines, parents and students should begin the application process early and are encouraged to explore as many options as possible to increase the likelihood of finding awards that best match students’ areas of achievement with their future education goals.
