GCS Announces Principal Reassignments for 2009-10

Guilford County Schools (GCS) announced Thursday principal changes for two schools for 2009-10. All changes will be effective starting July 1, 2009.

Mr. Lance Stokes will be assigned to the principal position at Jackson Middle. Stokes, who is currently the principal of Sedalia Elementary, started as a classroom teacher in 1999. He has served as an assistant principal in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and also with GCS at Hairston Middle.

Ms. Jill Hall, current principal at Sternberger Elementary, has been selected as the new principal for Montlieu Math and Science Academy. Prior to serving as an administrator, Hall was a math teacher for 11 years. While earning her master’s degree in School Administration at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Hall was selected as a North Carolina Principal Fellow.

Mr. Greggory Slate will be the new principal at Eastern High. He is currently the assistant principal at Grimsley High, and has served as former assistant principal at Dudley High, curriculum facilitator at Northwest High and Intervention Team Specialist at High Point Central High.
