At Penn-Griffin School for the Arts, wearing pink is in. To recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Penn-Griffin's high school Key Club organized a Pink Out to show support for breast cancer survivors, the families of victims and research to find a cure.
An overwhelming number of staff, high school and middle school students came to school dressed in some form of pink. Michelle Phillips, the school’s social worker, ran in the Women's Only 5K in Greensboro along with her daughter, a student at Jefferson Elementary. Last week, Michelle raised money for the Mammography Scholarship Fund by asking staff to donate $5 in exchange to wearing denim for a day.
