Inaugural PowerGirls Graduation - May 2, 2008

This spring, PowerGirls partnered with Guilford County Schools (GCS) to create a four-week leadership training pilot. During the month of April, approximately 90 girls from four district high schools attended leadership training focused on personal development, teamwork, communication skills, managing conflict and cultural diversity. Given the success of the pilot, the goal is to roll out the Guilford County leadership training concept to other members of the PowerGirls Network across the nation.

The PowerGirls Global Leadership Network connects young women from local communities and expands globally, pushing young women to set a new standard for excellence. Through mentoring, character development and exposure to professional excellence, PowerGirls Network seeks to arm young women with the knowledge and readiness for competition and excellence in the workplace and world place.
