Demolition of Union Hill Elementary - April 18, 2008

Since 1929, students learned, grew and flourished at Union Hill Elementary. Now, after almost 80 years, the aged building will be demolished to make room for a 78,000-square-foot replacement school. The new Union Hill facility is one of the last projects of the 2003 bond.

The improvements will provide a classroom capacity of 513. Until the new building is complete, Union Hill students are currently attending classes at the former Allen Jay Middle School.

The copula has been removed from the oldest part of the school, including the original school bell and certain precast elements. These items are presently stored for safekeeping and plans are underway to incorporate these features into the new school.
