In order to protect the Board in the event of the Superintendent's unavailability to make decisions affecting the District, the Superintendent shall appoint a Designee to act as Superintendent and shall notify Board members of the name of the executive staff member who is to assume Superintendent responsibilities on an emergency basis, should the need arise. The Superintendent will notify Board members of the staff member in charge in the Superintendent's absence when possible and will establish a chain of succession and notify the Board members of any changes in that chain.
