The Guilford County Schools is committed to providing a work environment that is free of sexual harassment.
Sexual harassment is a violation of Section 703 of Title VII and is defined as: “Unwelcome sexual advances, request for sexual favors and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when (1) submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of an individual’s employment, (2) submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for employment decisions affecting such individual, or (3) such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment.” (Title VII, Pub. Sexual harassment of employees will not be tolerated nor condoned in Guilford County Schools. Any employee who believes he or she has been harassed at the worksite by any person, including but not limited to a student or another employee of the district or a board member, immediately should report the incident(s) using Administrative Procedure GAMA-P.
