Driver Education

Driver Education is currently contracted by the Guilford County Schools to North Carolina Driving School. Thirty hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training are required before the course is completed. Classroom instruction takes place outside the regular school day and is scheduled at each high school during the course of the school year. In addition, classes are held during June and July and over the winter break. Behind-the-wheel instruction takes place during the entire year. Students below the age of 18 who are home-schooled or enrolled in private schools or GTCC are provided Driver Education services through the Guilford County Schools at no charge.
