LEA Improvement Plan

Guilford County Schools is in District Improvement in accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act. This means that the school system missed proficiency or participation targets in Reading for multiple years and is required to identify steps to improve student achievement by revising the Local Educational Agency (LEA) Improvement Plan. This plan describes what the school district will do to help low-achieving children meet challenging academic achievement standards. In revising the plan, GCS has consulted with parents, school staff and community members. Members of active parents' groups, including English as a Second Language (ESL) Parent Connection, Exceptional Children Parent Advisory Council (ECPAC) and Title I District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC), provided input during the revision process.
