Nova Net

NovaNET is a computer-based, online learning system with interactive instructional courseware. It has been shown to raise test scores, lower dropout rates, and improve student self-esteem. NovaNET provides more than 10,000 hours of self-paced lessons in subject areas aligned with the NC curriculum. NovaNET was implemented in all Guilford County high schools with several staff members in each high school receiving training. The high schools currently use NovaNET in a variety of ways including Guided Studies, After School programs, Saturday School, NC Competency Test preparation, Homebound students, and credit recovery. The Prescott Technology Center provides technical and instructional support. End-of-year survey results indicate that most Guilford County schools using NovaNET are very pleased with the results. For more information about NovaNet, please download the pdf or the power point presentation.
