Aug. 3, 2009 - Welcome to the Northern Region

It’s been great getting out and about in the Northern region to meet with students, parents, teachers and principals.  I really appreciate the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful school district.  I have more than 30 years of experience working in schools as a teacher and principal.  I know that success comes when we all work together for the common good.  Without question, our focus is on providing the very best education possible for our students.  We have a great team assembled in the Northern Region to do just that.  We all look forward to working with parents and others to strengthen our school communities individually and as a region. 
           

The regional concept will help us respond faster and more directly to the needs of our schools.  It’s our goal to know our students and their families and for them to get to know us as we build relationships.  With regions, we have the best of both worlds here in Guilford County.  There are the advantages that come with being one of the larger school districts in the state, but we can also add a personal touch and enjoy a connection to our communities that might not otherwise be possible.  That means if you’re a parent and you have a question or concern, let us know.  We’re here to listen and help.  Our office at 2500 Lee’s Chapel Road is located in the Northern Region closer to you and closer to our schools.  Come by and visit.  Be a part of our school community.  The Guilford County Schools Strategic Plan outlines the importance of “respectful and responsive service.”  That is the goal for which we strive along with doing all we can to provide the very best education possible for our children.
