Saturn Academy

The Saturn Academy allows students from across the county to attend school during flexible hours and to earn their course credits under the supervision of a dedicated teaching staff. NovaNET online course guides make it possible for students to take core classes needed to qualify for graduation, while elective classes can be taken at the students’ home schools.

Instructional time at the Saturn Academy extends beyond the traditional school day, until 8 p.m., providing students with flexible hours and the opportunity to work a part-time job in the mornings.

Students who attend the Saturn Academy are often at risk of dropping out of school and have had difficulty completing courses in the past. Instructors at the Academy are prepared to skillfully connect with the Saturn students and create a thriving learning environment where lives are turned around.

At each Guilford County high school, staff members continually work to match students with the many successful educational opportunities available in the district.

Saturn Academy, they work with the individual students to secure placement in the Academy. Fifth-year seniors, fourth-year juniors and third -year sophomores are among those most likely to qualify for acceptance into the Saturn Academy.

A newly revised entrance form for students interested in the program is available from each high school’s Saturn contact counselor.
