Hi, 8th graders! I am Monica James and I graduated from Western Carolina University in 2014 with a degree in Social Sciences Education and History. Go Catamounts! I am so excited to be starting my fifth year as a Northwest Viking and my 9th year teaching! I'm looking forward to a great school year learning more about United States History with a North Carolina focus. We will be learning using inquiry and lots of questioning this year and I am excited to help each of you think deeply about social studies! 

Outside of the classroom, I am a mom to two awesome little ones, Hudson and Rowan. Our family enjoys traveling and visiting new parks and museums in our free time. We are dedicated Target shoppers and enjoy pizza, Chick-fil-a and frozen yogurt!
