This is my 18th year teaching Spanish and I LOVE IT! Although I grew up just north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, (and yes I am a Packer fan), I began my teaching career at Pace Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. After six wonderful years at Pace, my family moved to North Carolina. Since arriving here fourteen years ago, I have taught at Canterbury School, Noble Academy and Northern High School. During my time at Northern, I taught levels 1 through AP Spanish. I love to make Spanish interesting, engaging and relevant for students of all ages. I am so excited to be be part of the Grimsley community. My number one goal for my students is that they develop curiosity towards other cultures, other places and others forms of communication. When former students tell me they are studying abroad for a semester in college, I am most proud. Obviously, education is important to me and I have my Master of Arts degree in Spanish and a Master of Arts degree in Education. My passion in life is to travel! I have lived and studied in other countries such as Venezuela, Guatemala, Mexico, Spain and Costa Rica and I have visited many more places throughout the world. One of my favorite activities is to take students abroad during the summer. I have traveled with groups of students to Belize, Peru, Costa Rica, the Galapagos, Dominican Republic and Italy, Greece and Spain. My biggest reward as a trip leader is to view children outside their comfort zones, challenging themselves to try something new. My husband, three children and I feel very lucky to live in Greensboro and I look forward to teaching at Grimsley.
