Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am very honored and blessed to be joining the dynamic family of Irving Park Elementary as the new Principal. This will be my 23rd year in education. I know I have a team of specialists in the building who are already moving in a way that is commendable. They have made considerable gains in growing every learner and I know that is a testament to the relationship and support they have from you as parents.

I hope to contribute to your efforts. As a Graduate of UNCG I have earned the degree of Educational Specialist. In addition, I earned a Masters in Administration from NC A&T State University, a Bachelors in Accounting from WSSU, and a Teaching Certification in Business Education from NCA&T. I am currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree from UNCG in Educational Administration with a focus in Urban Studies. I have now worked on all three levels, elementary, middle, and high school in administration or as an Instructional Technologist and teacher.

I am looking forward to learning more about you and my new scholars as we work together to build upon the foundation that you have already set. We will continue to provide a positive, rigorous, and engaging learning environment filled with exciting new adventures. I believe in open communication and many avenues for collaboration and participation. I will uphold the mission of the district and the school to ensure we grow every child and prepare them for our changing global society.

 I am also ready and eager to meet all of the hard-working parents who continue to volunteer and support the school. Staff members have shared with me how you kept spirits high during the pandemic and provided invaluable support to accomplishing goals. I want you to know your work did not go unnoticed. I hope to be able to work with you on many projects in the upcoming months. With all stakeholders at the table, we will surely accomplish our shared vision.
