Parents, please remember that we can not accept changes in transportation over the telephone. If you have a change in transportation, we must receive written communication. Also, if you are picking up students after 1:45pm, please do so in the car rider line. We have implemented these measures to tighten security for our scholars as we prepare our bus riders and after school daycare providers in the front office.
We have several students who are coming to school late daily, please know that any missed instruction impacts learning. The first 45 minutes of any block of instruction is extremely crucial . Please make every effort to prepare your learners at night, get them in the bed early, and get our scholars in the door onetime.
We also would like for you to be mindful of COVID symptoms. If your child is sick, please keep them at home and notify the front office.
Let's have a great day at Irving Park Elementary where Pirates are in Pursuit of Perfection Daily.

Good evening Pirate Families,
This is Principal Curry with your weekly updates. We are so excited to have our scholars back tomorrow but we have a few announcements to assist us in getting off to a great start.
The school day is from 7:25am until 2:10pm daily Monday through Friday. The tardy bell rings at 7:25am. At that time if you are bringing your scholar to school you will need to come around to the front of the building, park, walk your scholar inside and sign in. All car riders will need to be picked up by 2:15pm. Bus riders who are in K-2 will need to have parents waiting at the bus stop on time.
If you are changing your child's mode of transportation, you will need to make that change in writing via DOJO or by sending a note. We can not accept changes over the telephone.
Please look at CDC guidelines regarding sickness. If your student has any COVID symptoms, please do not send them to school.
Kinder parents may walk their students to the door the first week of school. We will not be able to accommodate parents eating with children in the cafeteria until after the third week of school. Please help us get settled by honoring that request.
Our water fountains are up and running but if you would like to send a clear water bottle for your child, you may do so. Please ensure all items sent to school are clearly labeled with your child's name.
If you are new to Irving Park and have not provided supporting document for your children, including name and proof of address, we will not be able to keep your scholar at school until you have completed this portion of the registration process.
Again, please keep phone numbers updated and phones on in case we need to contact you for emergency purposes.
Well that's all for your First Sunday announcement. Let's have a great day at the Park were Pirates are in Pursuit of Perfection.
Goodnight
Principal Curry

Good morning everyone,
I have spoken with our PTA president this morning and it looks like we will need to reschedule our "Grounds Beautification Day" for a later time. I believe the rain and thunderstorms will win.
Please send a warm thank you to that tireless team of Mrs. Sally Jones and her family. Mr. and Mrs Jones have been working around the school all week. Yesterday Mrs. Jones had a backpack on blowing sidewalks after she had put down most of the mulch.
We also would like to thank our Phenomenal PTA crew lead by Mrs. Collie. They pulled together and created an enjoyable teachers lounge for our staff members in the upper grades. They furnished our lounge with comfortable seating, sweet treats and coffee, and comforting displays. They have also purchased new picnic tables for the school and have been pulling weeds around the building.
With that said, if you are handy with tools and would like to assist with the building and grounds team throughout the weekdays please contact Mrs. Collie and she will connect you with the right team.
It takes everyone folks. Thanks for your willingness to help today and we will send out our rescheduled workday time.
Please don't forget Open House which will be held this Wednesday from 4pm until 6pm. At that time you will be given directions on regarding your teacher. School starts for all students on the 29th.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

This is Principal Curry with your weekly update.
Parents we are excited about our Open House and we look forward to meeting with you this coming Wednesday from 4pm until 6pm. Your teachers have been arduously working in anticipation of meeting you. Your child's general supply list has been posted to our website and DOJO but it is very important that you attend open house to meet your teachers.
We also have a community work day at the park tomorrow from 7am until about 1pm. Please come when you can and help us prepare for the year with our PTA building and grounds crew. We need you and it will take us all working hand in hand together to make the difference.
We look forward to meeting working with you and your family this year at Irving Park Elementary where Pirates are in Pursuit of Perfection.
See You Soon!
