Hello,

My name is Brittney Matthews, and I am so excited to be joining the second-grade team this year at Stokesdale Elementary. I have previously been a Teacher Assistant here at Stokesdale for Jennifer Lovelace in Kindergarten for the past 6 years. I am ready to take on the role of finally becoming a classroom teacher of my own.

I recently got married last year to the love of my life, Chris Matthews. We have been together for a little over 5 years. We love to travel the world as much as we can.  Fun Fact: My husband is Jennifer Lovelace’s brother!   I was inspired to become a teacher by my mom and Aunt, who are now recently retired Guilford County School Teachers. I graduated from Grand Canyon University with my Bachelor’s in Education with the honors of “Cum Laude”.

I enjoy shopping on Amazon, a little too much, drinking Starbucks coffee and spending time with my huge family!

I am so blessed to be able to continue my 7^th year working at Stokesdale Elementary with the best staff there is! I love our community, our parents and, most importantly, our precious students. I look forward to a wonderful and successful school year! 
