Hi! My name is Joel Darden and I've been teaching at Grimsley High School since 2005.  I love teaching at Grimsley, mostly because of the unique and diverse student population. This year I am teaching Advanced Placement United States History and Honors American Hisotry.  I am also the advisor for the Grimsley Chapter of the National Honor Society.

I was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina and moved to Greensboro in 1992 to attend UNCG, where I received my degree in History. After graduation, I attended Guilford College where I obtained my teaching license in Secondary Education.   In my free time I enjoy running, playing music, reading, immersing myself in the Marvel Universe (comics and film) and hanging out with my family.  I look forward to working with you this year.  Go Whirlies!
