Welcome! I am excited about teaching 8th grade English Language Arts at NWMS again this year.
I was born and raised in Canada. I attended the University of Lethbridge, where I earned a B.A/B. Ed degree in English Education. I taught grades 5-9 in Alberta, Canada.
I am married, and I have two children: my daughter graduated from Brevard College in May 2023 and works at Texas A&M, and my son graduated from Appalachian State University in December 2023 and works in Boone at Misty Mountain in sales/marketing. Our family moved to the United States 20 years ago for my husband's job; our family became US citizens in 2016.
In my spare time, I like to read, cheer on my children at their activities, go mountain biking and rock climbing (preferably outdoors), do watersports at the lake such as wake-surfing and waterskiing, and travel. I also continue to participate in triathlons and I am hooked!
