Welcome to Ms. Solís Webpage,

I currently work as a part-time English Learners (E.L.) Specialist at Claxton Elementary.  I was born in Costa Rica and I have taught English as a Second/Foreign Language for almost 30 years.

I love working with children who are learning English and helping their families who represent countries from all over the world.  If you walk into Room #212, you will see students who were born in China, Korea, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt, Brazil, and the United States among other countries.

In my class, English learners have the opportunity to strengthen their English language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in a small-group setting while learning on-grade level content.  During our 30-40 minute lessons, my students have the opportunity to share their heritage culture while learning and practicing the academic language and content necessary to succeed at school.
