My name is Kat Tuck and I have been at Claxton since 2002. I received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Secondary Education from Adams State University in 1990. After several years raising my two kids, Meghan and Gareth, I became a substitute teacher for Guilford County Schools in 2000. After a couple of years substituting, I was asked to become a EC Teacher's Assistant at Claxton. I worked in the self-contained Autistic room as well as a 2nd grade teacher room assisting exceptionally challenged students. After about 5 years, I aspired to be a regular classroom teacher and got certified with North Carolina to teach elementary. I was honored to get hired as a 4th grade teacher for the 2007-2008 school year. I have been a 4th grade teacher ever since and absolutely love this grade.
