Good evening, Jefferson families, this is your Proud Principal, Sue Villarrubia. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and managed to stay warm. Thank you to our families that supported our JES PTO at CiCi's Pizza on Thursday evening.
Please listen carefully to the following announcements -
1. Cold weather is here. Please send a sweatshirt or sweater that your child can leave at school. The temperature varies throughout the building, and we want all students to be learning in a comfortable environment. We do not want our students keeping their winter coats on during instructional time.
2. Tardies - After 7:30am students are marked tardy. Our car rider line gets busy between 7:20 and 7:30 but is almost totally empty between 7:10 and 7:20am. Please aim for earlier than later because being in the car rider line at 7:30am is not considered on time. If the sign goes out and staff come off the line, you must park and walk your child in so you can check them in on the computer.
3. Birthdays - Please do not send cupcakes or sweet treats to school for classes. We follow the GCS healthy snack policy, and this includes birthdays. If you send in a treat for a child's birthday, the items must be pre-approved by your child's teacher and will be given out during lunch or recess. Teachers cannot use instructional time for this.
4. Nightly Reading - Please strongly encourage your child to read each and every night for a minimum of 30 minutes. We are working hard to close gaps due to the Pandemic, but we really need your support in this area.
This Week -
Cosmic Bowling - students can wear white or neon colors that will glow in black light.
FUN RUN PRIZE - Students who raised enough money during the Fun Run to earn lunch with a friend will be held in the media center on Tuesday.
Fire Safety Program - 5th Grade (9:20 - 10:00am)
4th Grade Virtual Field Trip
11-23 thru 11-27
School is closed for students for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Thank you for your continued support of the Jefferson Way with Purpose. Have a wonderful and restful holiday break and we will see you back at Jefferson on November 28th.
