    Scholarships for Guilford County Students

    The John R. Kernodle, Jr. Memorial Scholarship applications are due on January 31, 2019Renewable award (up to $10,000 per year) is for a student wishing to become a teacher.

     

    The Jason Christopher James Memorial Scholarship applications are due on February 8, 2019.   One $5,000 award is given to a student interested in politics, international relations and traveling, studying and/or living abroad.

     

    The William Bryant Evans and Lucy Teague Evans Memorial Scholarship applications are due March 4, 2019.  This $1,000 award is for a resident of the McLeansville area and for a student wishing to pursue a degree in science or the humanities.  Renewable award is based on need and academic achievement.

     

    The York David Anthony Memorial Scholarship applications are due March 4, 2019.  Two $2,500 renewable awards will be given to students from Guilford County who will pursue degrees in Engineering. 

     

    The Tyler David Williams Memorial Scholarship applications are due on March 1, 2019.  Up to two awards of $2,500 will be given in 2019.

     

    The John Carlton Myatt Writing Scholarship applications are due on April 15, 2019.  One $3,000 award will be given to a Guilford County High School student.

  • Governor’s School is a five-week summer residential experience for students who excel in academics or the arts.  The dates are June 16, 2019 – July 24, 2019.  It is an enriching experience for rising 12th graders (academics and arts) and for rising 11th graders (dance and music) only).  Applicants must be N.C. residents and must have an EOC or other achievement test score of 92nd percentile or higher in the area of nomination.  Applications packets are available online at http://www.ncgovschool.org. Students must submit a completed application to me by October 19, 2018.  Information sessions will be held on :  October 4th at 6:00 pm at Dudley High School and on October 9th at 6:00 pm at Southwest High School.  Please encourage students to see Ms. Manuel for additional information.

    Natural Science

    Social Science

    Choral Music

  • Ms. Polk-Jones and Dr. Antonek will represent the Middle College at UNCG at the 2018 America's Best Urban School's Symposium in San Diego in October.  They will share what makes the school great at the symposium. They will also find out the level of award.
