• General Influenza Tips

    • STAY AT HOME FEVER-FREE WITHOUT MEDICATION for 24 HOURS BEFORE RETURNING TO SCHOOL OR WORK if you get the flu or have symptoms of the flu.
    • AVOID CLOSE CONTACT WITH OTHERS while you are sick.
    • STAY HYDRATED WITH WATER (drink plenty of fluids).
    • COVER YOUR MOUTH AND NOSE when you are sneezing, coughing, or blowing your nose.
    • WASH YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER or alcohol-based hand rub.
    • CALL YOUR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER if you are not feeling well or have any questions about your health.

Also, the flu shot is still encouraged in order to offer some protection to you and others.  It is available at the health department as well as community and health care providers.  Remember, a key message is to distance yourself from others who are visibly sick and stay at home if you have symptoms of the flu.
