    11-12-22

Good afternoon Mendenhall Families. This Principal George Green with an important message.

Guilford County Schools (GCS), in collaboration with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) PowerSchool security team, has been working to protect student data after an inadvertent error resulted in an incorrect attachment was shared in lieu of individual student report cards on Monday. The attachment contained the interim report cards of many students instead of individual report cards as intended. The erroneous communication was recalled later that day and all access to it was withdrawn. We have no reason to believe that anyone misused the data contained in the erroneous attachment, but we have been working with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and Powerschool to take every step to assure your students’ information remains private.

Per the recommendation of the NCDPI security team, all student passwords have been reset to a unique password and students will be asked to change their password to a new unique password private to them on Monday, November 14, 2022. If homework assignments were given that require students to access Canvas or other tools using their NCEdCloud passwords, they will not be able to access these programs over the weekend but will not be penalized. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience to you. I ask that you please remind students that under no circumstance are they to share their password with anyone else because their password should remain private to them.

Thank you for your support of Mendenhall Middle School.

Also, we are seeing an increase of early dismissals in which valuable instruction time is being lost. Please schedule appointments in a way that keeps students in school for the entire day.

Good evening Mendenhall Families! This is Principal George Green with a few reminders for this week.

There will be no school on Monday, September 5th for students, faculty and staff in observance of Labor Day. We look forward to everyone’s return on Tuesday.

During the 2021-2022 academic school year, Mendenhall Middle was 1 of 12 schools in Guilford County Schools that EXCEEDED EXPECTED GROWTH on the North Carolina End of Grade and End of Course Assessments! This is a great accomplishment for our school, students and staff.

In order to assist with the efficiency of the new car rider drop-off process, please refrain from dropping students off in areas that require them to cross on-coming traffic. This poses a huge safety risk for our students and to you as well. Thank you for your immediate attention and support.

Thank you for coming out to Open House on last Tuesday. It was a great to see everyone back in the school building and interacting with their peers and teachers.

The first day of school is Monday, August 29th, which happens to be tomorrow. We are looking forward to seeing students bright and early with our doors opening at 8:05 am. There is no adult supervision prior to this time, so please help us by keeping them in your car until 8:05. We will begin dismissing students a little early to assist with the dismissal process in the afternoon. Your patience during arrival and dismissal is much appreciated.

Over the next few days student schedules may be adjusted to balance class sizes that will lower the student to teacher ratio. Thank you in advance for your understanding, flexibility and support.
