     Summer Reading Incentives and Programs

Students reading 900 minutes or more this summer will earn a pass to Kersey Valley this fall. The incentive runs from June 11 through August 25th and all minutes must be reported by Friday, Sept. 6. Mrs. Farrell will send out a link monthly to help you record your  child's reading minutes. For those students reading more than 1,200 minutes this summer, NES will be awarding some fun prizes as well. Each student reading more than 1,200 minutes will earn a homework-pass 4-pack as well as the chance to dunk a staff member during school before our annual Fall Festival. In addition, they can also earn a chance for some other great prizes, including a pizza lunch with the principals, pieing Mrs. Farrell or winning some great new books! Please watch your email this summer for more information.

    EBOB for 2019-20

Congratulations to our 2018-19 EBOB Team! These hardworking kids placed first in GCS out of 55 teams, and third in the region out of 14 teams.

Students interested in participating in the 2019-20 program should have already turned in a participation form as they have required work to do over the summer. Students participating are required to read 5 books from their chosen group and complete a journal entry for each of those books. Contact Mrs. Farrell at farrelb@gcsnc.com if you have any questions. Meetings will continue to be held on Mondays at 2:30 in the media center.  Information about the competition at UNCG is TBD.
