My name is Kevin Hairston and I am thrilled to serve as an Assistant Principal at Northern Guilford High School! I received my Bachelor's degrees from Radford University in Psychology and Political Science. I also received my Master's degree from Radford University in Counseling and Human Development. I completed a graduate licensure program at Appalachian State University in educational leadership. I also received my National Board Certification.
My career in education spans more than 15 years in both Virginia and North Carolina. During that time, I have served as a dropout prevention coordinator, school counselor, testing coordinator and Dean of Students. I was also a part-time adjunct instructor at Rockingham Community College for five years. Before I was in education, I worked with children as a mental health caseworker for two years and foster care social worker for three.
I was an assistant football coach and head track coach for five years at Rockingham County High School. I also was the head JV boy’s basketball coach at McMichael High School for one year.
I cannot begin to express how excited I am to serve the Northern Guilford Nighthawk community.
