In first grade students consistently work on reading comprehension by identifying characters, setting, problem, solutions, main idea and details to support main idea. Students work in math with geometry, algebraic operations, measurement and time. In science students will study, the needs of plants and animals, force and motion and the day and night sky. Students are expected to read for 30 minutes daily to build stamina and fluency. First grade is wonderful and students will learn everyday as well as have fun!
