GCS grant approval is based on request size. Learn more under "GCS Required Approvals."
  • GCS Required Approvals:

Grants: Principal or Supervisor > Public Affairs and Philanthropy Office > Further review when needed*

*Grants of any size that involve personnel, facilities changes, or research proposals require review by additional GCS departments. The Public Affairs and Philanthropy Office will coordinate these reviews are needed or required.

    Steps in the Approval Process

    • Grant applicants are required to first gain grant approval from principals or supervisors to ensure the proposed grant project is aligned to school, department, and district goals.
    • Applicants are required to submit two brief electronic forms to the Public Affairs and Philanthropy Office, for approval prior to grant submission and to report grant awards. Both forms are found on the home page of the Public Affairs and Philanthropy website under Site Shortcuts:
      • Grant Project Approval Form. This offers opportunities to schedule further reviews or consultations, and to address questions and provide needed documentation.
      • Grant Project Award Form. Applicants also complete a grant project award form when they receive final funder notifications that result in a grant award.
  •  Know Your Responsibilities

Schools and central office departments share responsibility for grant proposal development and submission. The Office of Public Affairs and Philanthropy is the clearinghouse for approvals and technical assistance. Use the table below as a guide to how these responsibilities are shared in the district:
