A very small proportion of students with significant cognitive disabilities participate in the Extended Content Standard Course of Study. This course of study was developed based on the grade level standards of NC Standard Course of Study, with additional emphasis on functional skills and objectives. Students following this course of study receive a Graduation Certificate at the time of high school exit, and do NOT receive a high school diploma.
