Welcome to Mrs. Shumaker's Homepage

Welcome to 8th grade math! 

I look forward to starting my 19th year of teaching and my sixth year at Kernodle Middle School. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math courses including standard math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and now Common Core Math 1 and Common Core Math 2.  I have also taught 7th  and 8th grade science.

I graduated  with my B.S. degree and  M.Ed degree from North Carolina State University where I was a NC Teaching Fellow.  In addition to my added NC licensure for Gifted Education, I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Adolescent Mathematics.
