Welcome! I am excited about teaching 8th grade English Language Arts again this year. This is my second year in 8th grade; previously I taught 7th grade ELA for seven years.

I was born and raised in Canada.  I attended the University of Lethbridge, where I earned a B.A/B. Ed degree in English Education.  My husband and I moved to the United States 19 years ago for his job.  Our family became US citizens in 2016.  I am married and I have two children: my daughter graduated from Brevard College in May and is now a rock climbing guide in West Virginia, and my son is a senior at Appalachian State University and is set to graduate in December of 2023.

In my spare time, I like to read, cheer on my children at their activities, go mountain biking and rock climbing (preferably outdoors), do watersports at the lake such as wake-surfing and waterskiing, and travel.  I also continue to participate in triathlons and I am hooked!
