I use Class Dojo to keep up with my classroom management. If a student is doing what they should be doing, participating in class, helping others, etc. they will earn a Class Dojo point under a certain category. If a student is off task they will first receive a verbal warning, if they continue to be off task then they will move their seat. If the student is still not doing what they need to, they will lose a class dojo point; they will have a chance to earn it back. If the behavior continues, it will lead to a phone call or a referral to the office if it is a major problem. Students will go to the prize box every other week. They will be given their points via dojo money, I have numerous boxes with different prizes in each for students to work up to. Students are responsible for keeping up with their own dojo money.
I also use table points to help motivate the students to work together and build a classroom community. Tables can earn points for being prepared, following directions, participating, setting a good example, etc. If a table is talking during the lesson, being disruptive, not following directions they will lose tables points and will have a chance to earn the points back. Every week each group starts with 3 points. If the table loses all of their points before lunch, the table will have silent lunch. The table with the most points will go to the prize box at the end of the week. If there is a tie, there will be a question asked about what we are studying to determine the winner.
