Hello there! Thank you for visiting the JES Media Center page.  I am Mrs. Amanda Austin, and I am the media specialist here at JES.  I have been working for Guilford County Schools since 2006 and have been at Jamestown Elementary since 2007.  I was a classroom teacher for six years, and this is my eleventh year working in the media center.  I graduated from UNCG with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2006 and from UNCG with a Master's degree in library and information science in 2016.

My husband and I are originally from the High Point area, and we have been married for 15 years.  We have two amazing daughters, Alexi and Aubrey, and they love books just as much as I do!  

In my free time, I love to spend quality time with my family and friends.  Other hobbies I have include watching movies (and shows on Netflix), working out, playing with my daughters, and reading! I also really love going camping and going on other vacations to visit fun places (like the beach)!

Jamestown Elementary School sometimes seems like my home away from home, and I hope that you feel at home at our school and in our media center.  Our doors are always open for you to come visit and "check out" what we have to offer in the library!
