"The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is dramatized by Joseph Robinette from the story by C.S. Lewis.

This new dramatization of C.S. Lewis' classic, set in the land of Narnia, faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia. The intense action features chases, duels and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan. All the memorable episodes from the story are represented in this exciting dramatization: the temptation of Edmund by the witch, the slaying of the evil wolf by Peter, the witnessing of Aslan's resurrection by Susan and Lucy, the crowing of the four new rulers of Narnia, and more. The supporting characters are also here: the unicorn, the centaur and other forest animals, along with Father Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver and Tumnus the Faun. This story of love, faith, courage and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.

"The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, Illinois

Auditions/Casting Information

  • Auditions

Auditions for "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" will be held on Thursday October 3rd in the HPC auditorium from 4-6:00pm. For the audition process, students should prepare a one-minute monologue.

    Casting Information

All students wishing to be involved in the production (both acting and technical/backstage) need to complete an Audition Form (below) at or prior to auditions on October 3rd.

Students wishing to audition for the production are expected to have read and be familiar with the script prior to auditioning. Drama Club will hold readings of the chosen play in the week leading up to auditions. Students may indicate on their Audition Form if they are interested in auditioning for a particular role, however, this does not guarantee a casting assignment in that particular role or in the production entirely.

Production rehearsals will be held after-school on a frequent and consistent basis until performance; for this reason all students wishing to audition should also be able to provide frequent and consistent transportation and should be in good academic standing in all classes. A Rehearsal Schedule and Production Contract will be posted to this site with the Cast List.

Students wishing to be a part of the technical crew for the production should also complete a Technical Volunteer Form (below) and speak to Mrs. Rose-Scott prior to auditions on October 3rd.

All HPC students are welcome to audition! See you there!
