  • Public Invited to Share Input on Next Superintendent

June 14, 2022 – The Guilford County Schools Board of Education contracted with Summit Search Solutions to conduct a robust national search for its next superintendent.  An important part of the search process is a community survey that seeks input into the desired qualifications and characteristics of our next superintendent.

The survey can be accessed here and on the Superintendent Search Webpage. Responses are anonymous, and the survey will be open through July 8.

All GCS stakeholders including students, families, staff, and community members are encouraged to complete this survey and contribute valuable feedback to the search process.

  • Access to Water Safety Instruction Policy Out for Public Comment

May 31, 2022 – The Guilford County Schools Board of Education Policy Committee voted to send a new policy pertaining to water safety instruction out for a 30-day public comment period at its work session Tuesday night.

3542 – Access to Water Safety Instruction would provide all second-grade students access to the ‘Learn to Swim’ healthy lifestyle program. The program was formed in partnership between GCS and the Greensboro Aquatic Center, and instructs students on water safety skills, which can be potentially lifesaving.

The public comment period will end on June 30, 2022, and the full board will consider the revised policy for approval at its meeting on July 12, 2022.

GCS is working with the North Carolina School Boards Association to review and update all policies.
