Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Katrinka Brown

Hello Trojan Family,  I am KaTrinka Brown the Proud Principal of Jackson Middle School.  I reside in McLeansville, NC right outside of Greensboro with my 17-year-old daughter Jada who was a student at Jackson Middle School when I first arrived.  I attended North Carolina A&T State University for my undergraduate degree; which is a B.S. in Electronics and Computer Technology.  I also received a Masters in the Art of Teaching, and a Masters in School Administration from there.  Additionally, I have attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where I received my Education Specialist degree and where I am currently finishing up my Doctoral of Education degree.

I have served in Guilford County Schools for the past 17 years and look forward too many more.  I have worked at Grimsley High School and Southeast Guilford High School, as a teacher for my first four years in the district.  Also, I have served as an Assistant Principal and Interim Principal at Northern Guilford Middle School for 6 years.  Prior to my time at Northern Guilford Middle School; I spent one year as the Assistant Principal over Curriculum and Instruction at Rochelle Middle School in Kinston, NC for one year.

For the past 6 years, Jackson Middle School staff and students has been my second family.  I take pride in ensuring our students receive the best education possible.  This work is near and dear to my heart, and I don’t take ‘No’ for an answer when it comes to my student needs.   During the 2019-2020 school year, I wrote a grant to integrate STEM technology at our school in order to expose our students to robotics, coding, and other components of STEM education.  I am excited to say we received the grant for $1.5 million dollars, and all our students will experience this new cutting-edge experience as middle schoolers.

Again, it is an honor and privilege to lead the Trojan Family.  I look forward to continuing to partner with the families and community to maintain the strong engrained JMS culture; and bring my drive, determination, and service leadership heart to Jackson Middle.  I am excited to continue to work with the students, staff, parents and community that make Jackson Middle School great.  Please feel free to contact me at (336) 294-7350 or email me at
