Ms. Patricia Alen

Greetings!

I am originally from Montevideo, Uruguay. I moved to Greensboro in 2003 with my family, and we have been living here since then. I have two children: Alina, who is in college grade, and Alex, who is in sixth grade. We also have 3 pets: our dog Belle (6), and our kittens Ed and Charlotte (1 year).

I graduated in 1993 as an Early Childhood Teacher, and in 1995 I got my Elementary Teacher degree. In 2006, l graduated with a Master of Arts in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at Greensboro College.

This is my 31st year of teaching! During most of my career, I have taught Spanish in elementary schools. In 2016, I began working as the EL (English Learners) teacher at Northwest Guilford High School and Northwest Guilford Middle School. It has been a very rewarding experience to meet amazing students from all over the world, and watch them work hard and strive. Moreover, it has been an incredible privilege to work collaboratively with such outstandingly professional teachers as the ones in these schools.
