What does FCCLA do?
Below is a list of some of the things FCCLA has done in the past.
Do 1 random act of kindness each month. Participate in a program called “love letters.” It is an organization that collects hand made letters for students who are chronically ill in hospitals. FCCLA students quickly began creating and designing. Then something really cool happened. One of our members volunteered to hand deliver our cards to Duke when she goes there for an appointment. The students were thrilled to be able to send one of their members with an envelope full of handmade cards to hand out. FCCLA also decided to use the sewing skills 7th grade learned and make "comfort caps" for kids undergoing chemo. About 12 hats went to Duke. The group made blankets for Victory Junction. Created a project called "Thanksgifting" to let staff know how much they appreciated them. Took wipe bottles and recycled them to make water bottle holders for classrooms. Made dog toys for an animal shelter. Created gingerbread houses to share throughout the school. FCCLA is always busy making our community a better place.
Hope you can come join us on Thurs.
