    Minimum Eligibility:

    • Graduating African American senior at a North or South Carolina high school
    • Must attend a four-year college or university located in North or South Carolina
    • Must plan to major in engineering, computer science, the sciences, accounting, finance or business administration

    The African American Network is a Duke Energy employee resource group of African American employees. The Network identifies developmental growth opportunities for African American employees at Duke Energy and creates value for Duke Energy as a business resource and an organization with solid brand reputation. As part of its mission, the African American Network – Carolinas chapter provides scholarships to college-bound students from North and South Carolina who are pursuing a major in engineering, math, science, computer science, accounting, finance or business administration.

UNC Light on the Hill Society Scholarship

  • UNC Light on the Hill Society Scholarship

    Deadline: March 3

    First year African-American scholarship for students enrolling at UNC in the fall 2019. You must be accepted.

    This initiative serves as a tribute to Carolina’s early African-American graduates of the 1950s and 1960s who integrated the University by providing scholarships to current first-year African-American students. These talented scholars demonstrate academic excellence, outstanding leadership abilities, community service dedication and have great potential to become involved and informed alumni. The scholarship is administered by the Light on the Hill Society Board of Directors and supported by the UNC General Alumni Association.

Eberhart Scholarship

    The purpose of the Eberhart Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a Guilford County Schools graduating senior who might not otherwise be able to attend an institution of higher learning. The scholarship
    may be applied to tuition, room and board, books and supplies, or fees. Eligible students must be attending a 4 year College or University.

    Only SEANC members in good standing, their spouses and/or dependent child(ren) are eligible to receive scholarships. Membership in teachers’ organizations or the State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) does not constitute eligibility for a SEANC Foundation Scholarship.

    The scholarship applications are available online at https://www.seanc.org/scholarship and must be returned to their SEANC District Scholarship Chairperson (District number is located on the SEANC’s membership card). Students MUST NOT mail applications to the SEANC Office. This will delay the district judging process. Scholarship Applications MUST be mailed to their District Scholarship Chair, and the mailing addresses can be found here: https://www.seanc.org/scholarship.
     
    If the student is uncertain of the District Number, please have the SEANC member to contact the SEANC Office for their number at (919)833-6436, and ask for Phyllis Perry
     
    If you have a student who is interested in applying for a scholarship, but whose parent is not a member of SEANC, please direct them to www.seanc.org to join. The parent must be a state or local government employee or retired state employee to join. Membership dues must be paid current prior to April 15, 2019.
     
    Financial need applicants must include a copy of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Student Aid Report (SAR) Summary without an asterisk.
    The student must be enrolled as a full-time student for the 2019-2020 school year.

The Heart of the Piedmont Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association

    Each year, local chapters of ABWA provide Stephen Bufton Memorial Scholarships (SBMEF) to female students who will be attending accredited U.S. colleges, universities and community/vocational schools. Applicants for this scholarship must be citizens of the United States; residents of Cabarrus, Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, or Wayne County, NC; High school graduating seniors, college freshman, or sophomore, entering in August 2019 and attending any accredited community college with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
