Greetings Proud Trojans!
I am excited and honored to serve as the 7th grade Assistant Principal at Ferndale Middle School. This year, I will strive to build positive relationships with our school community: staff, parents, students, and community partners. Strong relationships are built on respect for one another, effective communication, and trust. My goal is for our scholars at Ferndale Middle School to learn in a nurturing environment that empowers them to become critical-thinkers, problem-solvers, and caring future leaders.
My career in education began in Buenos Aires, Argentina as a Spanish Language Arts and English as a Foreign Language teacher. I transitioned to United States in the year 2000. During my years in Guilford County Schools, I have served as a Spanish teacher at Southwest Middle and taught English Language Learners (ELLs) both at Southwest Guilford Middle and High. I have also had the privilege to serve as a Curriculum Facilitator at Doris Henderson Newcomers School (DHNS). I was recognized as Teacher of the Year in 2008. Additionally, I have had the honor to serve as teacher mentor, instructional coach, and conference presenter as well as keynote speaker.
I received my bachelor’s degree in K-12 Foreign Language Education in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Recently, I graduated with my master’s degree in School Leadership from Appalachian State University, North Carolina. In between degrees, I enhanced my teaching skills and academic knowledge by attending several professional development opportunities focused on literacy skills and the acquisition of a new language and collaborating with educators in Argentina, Guatemala, England, and Japan.
When not at school, I love spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and playing board games. I enjoy cooking and traveling within US and around the world. I do my best to visit my parents and family in Argentina as often as possible. Recently, I began exploring two new pastimes: gardening and camping.
I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and having a wonderful educational year together.
