Magnet Transportation

Who's Eligible?

  • Transportation is not guaranteed for all magnet or high school options programs.

    Most magnet and high school options programs are offered to students in specific transportation or feeder zones. Students are eligible for these programs based on their home address.

    Transportation will not be provided outside of the established feeder zones for magnet or high school option programs.  Parents will receive notification from the Transportation Department if a transportation request is denied.

    To obtain the password to complete your Magnet Transportation request online, you will need to contact the Magnet Office at: 336-279-4934.

Current Magnet Students: 2019-20 School Year

  • Students who do you not have a change of address will not need to complete a new transportation request. Your current transportation information will be retained for the upcoming school year.  

    If you have a change of address, please notify the Student Assignment office by calling 336-370-8303 or by emailing StudentAssignment@gcsnc.com.

    Staff will verify your status as a magnet student and provide you with a transportation request form, which must be submitted to the Transportation office by July 1, 2019 to guarantee transportation on the first day of the 2019-20 school year.

     

Newly Accepted Magnet Students: 2019-20 School Year

  • A link to the online magnet transportation request form will be sent to all families who have accepted magnet offers and are eligible for transportation. This link is provided by the Magnet Office.

    To obtain the password to complete your Magnet Transportation request online, you will need to contact the Magnet Office at: 336-279-4934. The deadline to submit a magnet transportation request is July 1, 2019.  Request forms received after July 1, 2019 are not guaranteed transportation the first fifteen (15) days of school.

    • Acceptance into a magnet or high school options program does not guarantee transportation will be provided.
    • Transportation eligibility is based on the address used to determine magnet school placement. 
    • Transportation will not be provided outside of the established feeder zones for magnet or high school option programs.  Parents will receive notification from the Transportation Department if a transportation request is denied.
