Welcome students and families to Bluford S.T.E.M Academy! Your school counselor is so excited to spend this school year with you. Dr. Cruz has been a licensed school and agency counselor for nearly 10 years with great experience in individual and group counseling, peer mediation, and student advocacy. She enjoys working with diverse student populations to help students work through any social-emotional barriers that impact their growth, development, and overall success. Dr. Cruz has worked with students from various backgrounds. She has helped students and families deal with grief, separation, anxiety, bullying, academic troubles, home issues, and other common problems young people face. Dr. Cruz' goal is to help students feel safe at all times, motivate them to try their hardest, improve their relationships with friends and family, identify goals and careers, and improve their social and emotional stability while promoting good character and citizenship. She has a Doctorate and specialist degree in Educational Leadership, two Masters degrees in Agency and School Counseling, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She enjoys shopping, swimming, and spending time with her family and friends. Dr. Cruz is on fire for Bluford S.T.E.M Academy and welcomes you to visit her office for individual sessions as well as participate in student groups, parent monthly meetings, cultural events, and other opportunities to promote healthy living and academic success at Bluford.
