Introduction  

Welcome to Ragsdale High School. My name is Coach Capps and I am starting my 8th year as a CTE teacher with the NCDPI. I have spent 4 years with the Craven County School System, 2 years at West Craven where I taught Entrepreneurship, Principles of Business, and Personal Finance. While at West Craven I coached Varsity football as the O-line coach and was the head JV coach and also coached Men and Women's track and the Men won the conference championship and won the state 3A 400 relay. I also spent 2 years at Havelock High School where I taught, Accounting I, Principles of Business, Entrepreneurship and Personal Finance. While there I also coached football as the outside linebacker coach and defensive coordinator on the JV team. We made it to the semi-finals of the state championship and made it to the championship game the following season and played against Charolette Chatlic HS. I also coached Men and Womens' track winning the conference championship in Womans track and took the womens 400 relay team the state championship. I also coached men's lacrosse.

Prior to teaching I was an executive supervisor for the third largest bank in the US, Washington Mutual Finance. There, I held several positions as branch manager, area training director, and district supervisor over four south-eastern states. My accomplishments to name a few were: President club memebr for 10 years, most profitable office, Manager of the year twice, office of the year twice, outstanding growth and production 10 years. 

I decided to go into teaching because I saw so many people who just did not understand the importance of their financial situation. I believe the state of NC is headed in the right direction requiring students to take personal finance before graduating. 

I look forward to a great school year. I hope we can find our new normal and make some great progress in the name of education.
